Product Description Summary

Fleet One Vehicle Tracking system is developed by WEX Fleet One which offers a wide range of GPS tracking solutions to both the private and government sectors, catering to vehicle fleets of varying sizes.

According to Goetz (2011), its digital platform consists of a two-way touchscreen interface that displays fleet information. Likewise, value added features such as online account management and ‘fuel transactions reporting’, helps makes the system intuitive and allows companies to reduce ‘fuel fraud’ when refuelling.

Additionally, trainings are provided by for new users through both online and offline means.

In my opinion, this telematics product would be of great value as its integrated system would help the company to improve its fleet management.

Formal E-mail Writing

Subject: Self Introduction

Dear Brad,

I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself. My name is Telson Ting, a telematics student from your Technical Communication (TLM1010) class at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). I graduated from Singapore Polytechnic in 2014, with a Diploma in Info-Communication Engineering & Design (Wireless & Digital Media Communication).

The diploma course that I took in polytechnic, incorporated several design thinking modules in the course curriculum. It allowed me to develop important design thinking skills throughout my course of study there. This was put to good use, when I was trying to create a prototype of an electric skateboard for my final year project. The project sparked my interest in autonomous vehicle technologies in Singapore and therefore, I decided to pursue a degree in the field of telematics.

In my spare time, I like to pursue my hobbies such as volunteering for community outreach events and jogging. Volunteering allows me to interact with people from different backgrounds in life and gives me an opportunity to be able to help the less privileged on a more personal level. I enjoy jogging too as it helps to clear my mind and recharge especially after a hectic school day.

My aims for the future would be to work in the automotive industry, where I can use my technical skills and knowledge to develop better solutions for the transport system and help transform Singapore into a ‘Smart Nation’.

I understand that good communication skills are vital in the workplace for productivity, and I look forward to learning how to improve them in the following classes.

Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,
Telson Ting
